In this conference, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web presenting the concept of Semantic Web.

We are moving from a network of hyperlinked human-readable web pages to a web of data. The next web will be a web of data that can be created instead of being referenced on a search engine. It is the concept of semantic web is where the computer is generating new information rather than humans.

But “big data” brings massive challenges: increasing volume (amount of data), velocity (speed of data in/out), and variety (range of data types, sources).

The next frontier is big data exploration via algorithms.

About

We are living in a change of age rather than an age of change.

“Every few hundred years in Western history there occurs a sharp transformation. Within a few short decades, society rearranges itself; its worldview (paradigm), its basic values, its social and political structures, its arts, its key institutions. Fifty years later there is a new world.”

New technologies are bringing deep structural change and radical innovation. With this new technological age come new actors, new business models and new leaders. This blog humbly aims at monitoring those disruptions.

“Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius power and magic in it …” (Goethe)
